About This Tour
The Alcatraz Island Insider Access Tour is the most exclusive and comprehensive way to experience Alcatraz Island. Limited to just 30 participants per departure, this intimate tour is led by a National Park Service ranger or trained volunteer guide who takes you deep into areas permanently closed to the general public. Your journey begins with the standard ferry crossing from Pier 33, but once on the island, your guide leads you off the beaten path into the hidden layers of Alcatraz's 160-year history. This is Alcatraz as you've never seen it — and as most never will.

- Photo ID Required: The primary account holder must present a valid government-issued photo ID matching the name on the reservation at Pier 33. Tickets are strictly non-transferable.
- Arrive Early: Please arrive at least 30 minutes before your scheduled departure time for security screening. Ferries depart exactly on time.
- Dress in Layers: Underground tunnels and hospital rooms remain damp, dark, and significantly colder than the rest of the island, even during summer months.
- Footwear: Sturdy, closed-toe walking shoes are strictly required. Sandals, heels, or flip-flops are not permitted for safety reasons.
